Mr
Hello Peter's family Hoping that all is well,I write with a heavy heart.
This is regards to a withdrawal that happened on my account on the 20th of February 2021 On this day a purchase of pizza happened from Durban worth R129 came off my account which I immediately reported as i was not the one conducting this withdrawal. I make a call to standard bank ***** department to explain about what happened into my account, they advised me they will cancel the card and I must go to the near branch and make a new card. I went into Eyethu branch to enquire as I suspected ***** on my account.
I was later informed that it was an error on the bank side ,were someone else was issued a card linked to my account which to me was no big deal as mistakes happen. The sad thing is that I am still waiting for a refund to replace my deduction funds, which I've been running up and down, using my airtime trying to get this sorted .I went to a number of branches trying to get it sorted without any luck as everyone keeps shifting the blame...from ***** depart to the branch and from branch to "we'll keep you updated as we wait for a resolution ",DOES IT REALLY TAKE THIS LONG TO RESOLVE THIS ISSUE"
What makes me sad is the fact that I know my account does not get salary paid into it lately since I lost my job.which brings me to this conclusion that now my account s not valuable to the bank anymore as it used to, my claim does not really matter or I'm not considered important anymore as client of this institution.
I can sit here and cry about how much this little claim of R129 has cost me...but it's clear that it won't matter. All I want is my money back I never wanted a big deal of this but it's heart breaking to get such treatment from the very same bank you entrust with the little money that one has.
If we look at principle my account was exposed to ***** and unauthorized access.
Let me brake down what it cost me to try and get my money back.
Every time I came to the branch to try and get this resolved I've had to temporarily close my little car wash business which both me and my wife operate...this means I lost on my daily revenue in this regard. 2.Every time I went to the branch to try and get this resolved, it cost me petrol just for mere R129
I went to 1.Eyethu mal 2.Southgate and 3.Vanderbijlpark ,to all without any assistance.
It is sad that I have to go through all this trouble just to get R129 which could be simply transfered to my account to avoid this. I don't have to tell you how to do your job but how difficult can this transaction be that everyone seems to *********** to conclude.
If the bank no longer requires my business, please do advises as this is very unfair and sad that one be treated in this manner. I rely on this account for this R50 andR100 payment from my car wash small business.
You tell me if this is fair, if the cost incurred by myself where worth the trouble and if you are willing to reimburse me?
