Moving forward to FNB
Looks like Standard Bank will lose my business.
On Wednesday 18 March I walked into Standard Bank Cape Gate fairly confident as I am about to buy more shares in the company I work for, that confidence changed to anger real quick after a few words with the receptionist. First I waited for more than half an hour for four consultants that was doing absolutely nothing except for chatting to each other to help me.
Eventually I got some help from one of the guys where he informed me that I will wait 3 months to get the money into my account if I opted for an extension on my house bond. I asked him if I can do some sort of business loan, and he got up quickly to ask some assistance from one of the business bankers.
A lady from the business banking department came to me and looked like something out of a hillbilly movie, leaned over the table and made me feel like a ******** who is under cross examination. I told her that the business account is at FNB, but I want my loan through Standard Bank because I have been banking with them for ten years now, she then rep**** and I quote, \It is better for you to go to FNB
