Money withheld by standard bank

What a shame! A deposit was made into my nieces account on Friday morning and standard bank immediately blocked it. She was told the ***** department is still investigating and would call her same day. Up until now, no one has called and she still cannot access that money. How do you just hold money with no explanation???? That money is for her mother who sick in hospital. When will that money be returned??????????
