Money from the deceased account taking a year to be released and now the beneficiary passed on as well,so what happens now

My father was a beneficiary for his mother's money that was in her account when she passed ,his mother passed away in July 2020,he summited all paperwork in September 2020,when we enquire this year In March we were told that the person who was handling his case has left the Louis trichard(makhado)branch till today the money is still not paid and worst part of it he has now passed away without getting a cent,what will then happen now to the money,and how long does one have to wait to get money that is in the deceased account especially because my dad was the only surviving child of the deceased, my father died without getting what was due to him ,
