Mobile app can't view all your phone's data

The Standard Bank mobile app available on the app store is asking for every possible permission it can have to the device. The app does not need this and Standard Bank has failed to explain to me why this is the case. The call center cannot escalate my query because I am not a customer. I was considering moving to Standard Bank but after this I will not move. The app does not need to see my calendar nor my contact book, that is personal information that I do not wish to share. However I cannot use the app unless I agree to allow the app access to that. It also asks for GPS, my call history and access to all my photos. Not even opening a new account would require this detailed personal information. I deem this a breach of my privacy and would like to know why this is the case but Standard Bank refuses to answer me.

It has been one full month, Standard Bank has still failed to reply to reply to my query. I have no choice but to assume that Standard Bank does not deem my business worthy or important to them. I will thus take my business else where since Standard Bank does not seem to care to reply.

Standardbank has yet to provide me with some answers. We are sending our private data over the intenet and I would like to make sure it is secure and I don't want an invasive app. Standardbank has not told me why they require the permissions they do nor the way they wrote the T&C.
