I have been attempting to complete a registration process for an Online Share Trading account at Standard bank for a month now. I decided to go to a branch in order to avoid hassle and to be told exacly what to do and how to do it.

I was told that they do not do the registration in the branch and can only be done online, and graciously provided a computer and the customer services (CS) line for OST with which I could then attempt registration. The CS told me that the branch can scan in the documents and email it directly to them. I asked in the branch, and was told that they were not able to do such for me and that I could do it myslef and that the documents didn't need to be certified.

I received and email stating that all that was missing was my proof of residence. I scanned it in and sent it, and asked to be notified when it was reveived if it is sufficient. I was not notified for days or more, and phoned the CS to follow up. They told me that they had not received it, and I emailed it again. This time i was told that only certified documents would be accepted. I then especially certified, scanned and emailed again. Today I was told only the original document would work???!!!
