****mers in the name of honouring fees. I don't recommend banking with standard bank the worst service and the worst bank.

First email i sent

I am deeply disappointed and dissatisfied about honouring fees that keep being charged I make sure to leave enough money more than the transaction amount in my account every month for my debit orders.

I am not gonne do this every time its no use banking with standard bank when I have to give out way more. That R120 is bread money I am the only breadwinner in my house and having to pay that doesn't sit well with me once you guys deducted a whole R300 if it wasn't more.

My balance was left at R480 debit order was R470. 90 + R3. 30 debit order fee so why am I charged R100 on 6th March for a debit order that is schedule for 4th March . I payed and made sure to have enough funds for my transaction if this honouring fees is not off my account today or within 24 hours.

I am closing my bank account with standard bank with immediate effect. I am also going to put negative reviews about honouring fees online as this affects people's households I feel that standard bank is *****ing our monies under honouring fees.

It feels like paying two times for the same transaction and this doesn't sit well with me. So please remove this nonsense else i will never bank with you guys again. Everytime this is done it make me short on food at home no man what a rip.

A other bank official at standard bank Kenilworth centre also told us when swiping a card the transaction does not occur immediately. It gets banker the next day so therefore we get honouring fees how is out fault if the stores or merchants don't bank immediately. Why must we as consumers bear the brunt of the mistake. This is a injustice to us and if you continue this you might lose thousands of clients because of this mistake. Please rectify it before i swop and change my banks.

Second email No query has been resolved ever since i opened my standard bank account you guys have been charging me ****ing honouring fees again a R100 for ****. Where the **** do you think we must get money to be thrown away every time you guys do this and ***** my childrens bread money for the month.

I keep having to make loans and never get out of it just because im having to pay again more than R200. I am going to have articles published in every newspaper. I keep recommending standard bank but now i am officially done. If this fees are not waivered for the pay just now. I am going to close my account today or leave it open and not honour any damn fees. So then you guys can wait till kingdom come for that R200. Iys absolutely ridiculous i pay.... The pay just jow every month on time before taking the change.

The transactions all went off on time why the **** do i have to pay 2 times for the same transaction with my own ****** money. It doesn't fall from the sky i work 12 shifts in the sunny or stormy weathers. You keep robbing the poor people. I am really gonne cause a stur om social media Facebook, tiktok, Instagram i have over 100k followers so choose of you are going to dispute the fees. I am fed up with standard banks poor service robbing the poor. If i add up from 2 years ago till now its more than R2000 in honouring fees. ****ing absurd. Why must people be rude first before you guys take note.

Reply from standard bank Thank you for writing to us.

Our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused.

Honouring fees are charged when transaction is banked for a purchase and account does not have enough funds to cater for that transaction. Merchants take 2-3 days up to 6 months to bank their transactions. Furthermore, funds need to be available and enough to cater for these transactions. Once a transaction is banked and there are not enough funds in your account to honour the transaction; an honouring fee will be charged because the merchant will already be paid. The fee will be equivalent to the transaction amount if the transaction is below R100.00 and will be R100.00 if the transaction is over R100.00. Please ensure that you cater for all your transactions and fees once you are debited to avoid any penalty fees that will be charged.

We unfortunately cannot assist with the fee reversal if the fee has correctly been charged.

Should you require clarification on the above, please let us know.

Kind regards Emma Matthews

My reply Also how can i pay honouring fees for a transaction that didn't go through but i don't qualify for an overdraft. I will have to get my friends and do a peaceful protest at every standard bank branch because enough is enough. You have ****** me enough more than R3000 in honoring fees is ridiculous.

I don't recommend standard bank to anyone if you value your earnings and cannot afford to ****med /****** don't choose this bank you will lose money every month since 2022 i have been losing more than R3000 they ought to be ashamed for *****ing peoples food money.
