Loyality to bank after 27 years means nothing

on 28 nov 2016 I became a victim of a phishing emailing. this email took me to a 100% identical website like the normal internet banking website. thinking that I was on the std bank website, i proceeded to enter my details, because I had business that I needed to do on the website. When I could not get into the banking part, I closed the website and decided to try the shortcut on my desktop. Well I got into the internet banking and added my mother-in-law as a benefecery and then transferred the money to her account, that I needed to do and then exited the website. The next moment STD bank ***** phone me and informed me that ***** had occurred on my wifes account via my profile. (Std bank first let the ***** occur and then they phone you.) R10000 was ****** from my wifes account.

After many phone calls and emails we have been told by upper management that std bank will not refund any of the money or give the information regarding the account holdwer who stole the money. The money was ****** from my wifes account and transferred to another std bank(FICA compliant) account and then drawn from an ATM in two batches of R5000. Apparently the account has been closed in the meantime.

I had the opportunity to say my say on 702 Radio station this morning. There was a guy from std namely Vuyo Mpako representing Std Bank and this man is a true represntative of std bank. he listened and then he phone back later and was given all relative information.

I hope that he is able to do what his superiors refuse to do.

In the meantime we are going to lay a ******** case against std bank so that we can retrieve all the neccessary information to follow the account holder who stole the money.

DON'T TRUST ANY EMAIL FROM STD BANK PLEASE OTHERWISE YOU MAY END UP ALSO A VICTIM.
