Loss of title deed

I am purchasing a property that Standard Bank received the title deeds for this was signed for and now the documents have been lost.no one can assist us and i was told by a Standard Bank consultant that she cannot provide me with a timeline for their enquiry to be resolved and she has escalated . Firstly how does Standard Bank lose a title deed and where is the customer service with feedback. This is unacceptable service from a Financial institution not to provide feedback and timelines. The urgency of the title deed is not taken into consideration. Its been escalated and the client and attorneys should be happy with that as feedback. The reference no is ********** 749. Please have the matter further escalated this matter is of urgency ..still how does a bank lose a title deed?
