Long Queueing Times at Newmarket Branch, Alberton

The waiting times at Standard Bank Newmarket Branch are pathetic. I reopened a Standard Bank cheque account again after several years because I like Standard Bank. Upon my return I discover that they closed the big Alberton branch and the Brackendowns branch to replace them with a smaller Newmarket branch. It seems they are aiming to reduce their customer base by planning for business contraction instead of expansion. I have 2 cheque accounts now - FNB and Standard Bank. With the long waiting times at enquiries at Newmarket (3 consultants versus 3 plus 4 previously at the closed branches). I'm copntemplating closing my new Standard Bank account. It's not work paying those additional monthly fees and wasting time I could be using for my business, waiting in queues. If the situation doesn't change I'm closing the account. It's new. I have nothing to loose but time and money to save.
