Loan

So I went to standard bank today to request a loan. I wanted a loan of R2000 but was told that the minimum is R3000. Fine, I can handle that. So I asked for it to be processed, I was then told that I could not take a loan of R3000 but needed to take a loan of R6000 because that is what I qualify for, I said nope thats not what I want. Please tell how this works. You force customers to take amounts that they don't want nor need ( seems like reckless lending to me). I was advised that I cannot get the minimum loan they offer because I qualify for more and I'm forced to take the amount I don't need nor want for that matter. How please tell me how? My next question to that consultant was, you mean to tell me that you are willing to loose business rather than give me the amount I want which is half of the amount you are willing to give me. The agent told me I qualify for more, therefore she can only give me the R6000 that I don't want. I walked out of that office like i was being chased out. I am not willing to take an amount that I don't want, an amount I don't. That would definitely be reckless on my part and reckless for Standard bank. You cannot force someone to take an option that someone doesn't want. How does that work exactly, how do you force someone to take something they don't want. I'm sorry but there are other banks. Even though I bank with you, I would rather go to another bank and request the loan. Maybe other banks want my business and they are not willing to loose it by offering me something I don't want.
