Lack of urgency and effort

My partner transferred money into my standard bank account from his FNB account on Sunday 13 Aug. On Wednesday at 6:35am I received an SMS from Standard Bank saying the money is in my account with the new balance. Anyway go into my account as I needed to do a payment and noticed that the money was not reflecting in my account.

Called Prestige Banking on Thursday. Call cut after 45mins with consultant who never bothered to call me back. Spent R120 airtime on Friday trying to get through to someone who can eventually help. Twice got cut no call back. Finally on the third attempt got help. Emailed the FNB statement of my partner and the SMS through to ***** dept. to show money went out of his account and did not bounce back and that I did receive the SMS confirmation. Standard Bank says they can't trace the money. FNB says that the money is definitely with Standard Bank and they going to do a recall in order to try and get the funds back into my partner's account hopefully by today but the money will only reflect in his account in 24hrs. My partner then needs to go into the branch to do a deposit back into my account since we can't risk this transfer **** happening again. So 8 days later I'm still waiting for my money.

We must run around like headless chickens because Standard Bank's system issues are now our problem. We pay hefty bank fees for this ****. Just for your money to magically disappear and no one is liable for it. They don't care about the stress and the inconvenience they put you through. I'm so dumbfounded by the lack of urgency and incompetence customer service. Oh and no one is going to refund me for all of he calls I had to make or the fact that we have to invest so much time in sorting this out and waiting for our hard earned money that from the 13th till to date we still don't have because the bank still has it.
