lack Of responsibility on the part of the bank
I have a personal loan with Standard Bank at the time of taking out the loan I was not informed that Retrenchment was not covered. I have become retrenched as at the 30 November 2015. I contacted standard bank head office and they advised at the time of taking the loan the policy i had taken had not covered retrenchment. A female worker then spoke to higher management who says the oweness falls on me to check the policy. I was given a policy by the bank who knew very well that I was not covered for retrenchment. They call you every other day to sell you insurance however they fail to call you and advise you that you personal loan is not covered for retrenchment? They need to ensure that they rectify this error as many clients of the bank are not aware of this and the bank will sit back and ensure that they don't educate clients. It is the banks responsibility to ensure that a client is educated on all aspects of a loan. I am disgusted at their approach to the situation.
