Lack of Common Sense

From mid July, I have been trying to arrange payment of my father-in-law's accounts that are in arrears with his bank. He is not able to come to a branch or speak coherently on the phone. Speaking to the legal department, they are not able to provide any info besides the collection company that is handling the debt now. I was advised to get power of attorney, to be able to get more information. This I got. Signed and witnessed.

Calling the legal department again, i was advised to go to a branch for assistance. At the branch, I was told that the letter is not acceptable as ANYONE could have signed it. Like i want to de***** a bank, in order to PAY BACK money to them. That makes SENSE...

I was told to follow a 'curator bonis' process by his and MY bank, which is costly and time consuming, in order to arrange a payment plan for my father-in-law's debt. Unfortunately, the legal process regarding collection will continue unabated.

I just want to make arrangements to pay the debt my father-in-law has, so that he can not have collections agents on his doorstep. He is not able to, and he is willing to let me do it.

All I am asking for is COMMON SENSE from HIS and MY bank to solve it.
