Just trying to open a savings account
Last Saturday I came to the branch with all my documents with the intention of opening a savings account. Their were systems issues so after an hour and a half of trying to open the account, the consultant advised that they would try to do the remaining procedures later that day, but that the account would be open latest that Monday. I was at least given the card for the account in the meantime though.

Monday came and went, Tuesday too. Eventually I phoned the call centre on the Wednesday, and I was advised that although the account was opened, I needed to now come back into the branch as the card was not linked to the account.

I then arrived at the branch this morning, only to be asked if I had the original envelope and letter that I got the card came with. I didn't have that with me, so the consultant or manager (not sure) said I needed to now go stand in the Enquires queue to get a new card issued as they can't link a card without the info on the letter. I refused as this is becoming ridiculous, and is the exact experience why I moved my cheque, business and home loan away from Standard Bank years ago.

I'm being sent from pillar to post, just to open a simple savings acc??
