Just a number not a person
I have been banking with Standardbank for as long as I can remember, I went through a terrible divorce and lost everything including my dignity in 2015. I am working hard at getting back on my feet and I am almost there - but I need help from my bank and nobody wants to listen and try and understand - with the bank you are only a number..... I need vehicle finance - I have 2 very small unnecessary judgements against me - of one was paid up a few years ago already and the other one I am busy paying off. I currently rent a car through earnacar and I am paying R 6000 a month for a very small car because I cannot get finance - surely if I can pay earn a car R 6000 a month Standardbank can assist in vehicle finance where I can get a better car for much less. My question is this - if you are trying to get back on your feet and you are working hard to pay everything and you can proof this - why is the bank not looking at your full situation than rather doing a generic check and decline you???? I would not like to move bank - but I have previously had vehicle finance through Wesbank before my divorce and I have opened a bank account with FNB where I have a premier account and a Personal Banker assigned to me - I do not want to change banks as I do not like change - do not want to learn a new app/bank site - move over debit orders etc. If standardbank is willing to appoint someone to look at my case on a merit basis I will appreciate - if they want to handle me like a number on their books I will move my banking over to FNB and hopefully they will treat me like an individual.
