It's become my problem
About 2 Saturday's ago I receive a call from the Forensics's department to say that they have just intercepted a transaction on my credit card at a Paint shop In Johannesburg. Clearly the card had been cloned, because I still have my card in my possession and I live in Cape Town. I asked how this is possible, when I still have my card and have not used it for some time before then. My point was if my card was copied, the perpetrator was likely to use it immediately and therefore my gut was the information was obtained within the bank. The investigator was quite short and said he can't comment. Anyway the up side of the case was that I had not lost any funds and my card was just to be cancelled and a new one dispatched immediately. I agreed that they must please send it to Pinelands. Unfortunately I forgot there is a second branch in Pinelands. I duly received a msg to collect and when I did I was informed the card was at the other branch, but they would immediately arrange to get it for me. Well after 10 days they still have not collected my card although the other branch is about 500 metres away and yesterday I get a call to say the card has been returned to Pretoria.
