IstoreCard - Huge Disappointment. More a Joke!

A few months ago the process started, where I app**** online for a istore credit facility. The application was declined with code: D027 serveral times (Credit Card Issued Previously). I checked my credit status and all are in good condition.

I called into the call centre to inquire about the process and generally just get some feedback. I was told the rejection was due to the fact that I had a bluebean card in the past. (more than 10 years ago)

I was told that someone from the Istore team will call me to finalize the process. I am still waiting!

Again I called and i was told my query was escalated to your back office (twice already now). Someone would get back to me the next 48 hrs. Well its been more than a few months now.

No response from anyone

I am not impressed with the service from Standard Bank and Istore.

Frankly I am disappointed and disgusted with the fact that the Standard Bank brand is attached to the Apple brand.

I must say, both your teams can learn a thing or two from FNB and the Istore process. They know how to treat customers and sell products and process applications efficiently and effectively

I really wanted to upgrade my pc a few months ago but now i am just not interested at all.

I am not sure if the Istore, Apple or Standard Bank have problems figuring out there business processes , but this whole process leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Response today:

Kindly be advised that you may re-apply after 06 months.

Kindly be advised that there is no record of your application as your credit card application has been decline due to having a credit card previously.

I responded back:
Sorry I am just abit confused here. You renot being clear about what i am suppose to do here.

I asked the question, what will change in 6 months that you can fix now.

So does this mean your business rule doesn’t allow me to apply for credit because I had credit card 10 years ago. That simply doesnt makes sense to me. I had to wait 4 months to find this out. It is really unprofessional and crazy. if you decline my application based on the fact that i could not afford it or something like that I will still understand it. But to decline my application based on a reason like that simply doesn’t make business sense to me.

I will never move any of my accounts to Standard even if the rate and deal is better. This is a clear indication that they dont know their own business process. They dont understand busienss and now to deal with clients

Hi there,

I am not sure if you call centre know how to deal with clients:

Good day Jacko

It is my pleasure to assist you with your application.

Kindly be advised that your credit card application was declined due to default on the previous Standard Bank MasterCard, therefore you may check your bureau profile with experian or transunion on this websites: www.experian.co.za or www.transunion.co.za

You are welcome to contact us, should you require further assistance.

Kind regards

I have already checked both those reports and i have no default on my credit card. I have been a FNB client for years. Again i will say. I had a standbank card years ago. How is it that you can say that my credit record is reflecting a default when i cant see it. I have asked for the report so that I can take it up with the relevant parties.Clearly there is a business or solution issues here. But somewhere, something is wrong. I am a private client at my current bank. Must be honest with you. I am not interested in the credit or even moving to standard bank at all. I just want to this issue cleared up please.
