ISSUES with Private banking
I am a standard bank private banking client. I have an access bond which I keep almost paid up. I withdrew a large sum from the access bond for a period of 24hrs in order to settle a trade that I had been a part of. after that period the funds were put back into the account. I normally pay plus minus 140 rand but this months I was debited over 21K sending my checking account into overdraft. when I tried to contact my private bankers after much effort I eventually got through and was told that they no longer handle my account. no one thought to tell me. still waiting for someone to contact me. don't waste your money on private banking with standard bank.

she did respond over email saying that the fault was not standard banks problem. as it was within 7 days of debit order. but the calculation she made is incorrect. as the bulk of the funds were in 9days before and the last third was in 8 days before
should I rather go to the ombudsman. im not sure why im with you guys

I withdrew 2.5mil for 24hrs the funds were back and was charged 1month of fees. the only explanation I was given was it was the system.
avoid them. standard bank gives you good rates but dont try borrow off your bond. you will get destroyed
