Incredibly shoddy service from standard bank

The Manager

Standard Bank Homeloans devision 17-11-2016

Time: 8:54 am.

Dear Sir/Madam

My Name is Alfred Kronberger, I am 71 Years of age and I am a pensioner on a fixed Income.

Due to my advanced age, my wife and myself, decided to sell our House where we lived for 41 Years to be able to move to Oudtshoorn, to be close to my daughter and my grandchildren.

The house was sold within one week to Mr and Mrs. David.

We subdivided the property in 2005 and it was changed to a sectional title deed

Due to my limited income, I was unable to have the bond cancelled and have been paying the monthly admin fee of R 60 with the aim of finalizing everything during the sale of the property.

Ria Barnard of the Firm Snyman & De Jager requested the bank to cancel the bond and to obtain the deed.

Mr M.Masipa of the firm Sekati Manyane & Partners was tasked by the bank to obtain the deed. Unfortunately, he obtained the original deed and not the sectional title deed. Since then we have been unable to get the correct deed.

So far, 38 calls to the firm of Sekati Manyane & Mr. Masipa have not achieved the provision of the deed. We have been fobbed off to Sekati Manyane (Mr. Masipa) who keeps referring us to Standard Bank. When we contacted Standard Bank we have, from numerous call center personnel, being given conflicting information (The deed will be there within 2 days, which never happened, and referral back to Mr. Masipa, who only told us again that he has not received anything from the bank. In total 10 calls have been made to Standard Bank, every time with conflicting answers, (eg. the deed has been sent off... there is no deed... the deed has been sent ... and so forth ad nauseam)

A call, yesterday, to M. Manyane only achieved, that she would look into the matter (she has not come back to us)'

In the meantime, family David cannot move into our former house, our Furniture is already in Oudtshoorn.

We have already obtained a house in Oudtshoorn and are currently forced to pay occupational rent. When we told the call center the circumstances, we were told in a snide manner, to move back to Centurion. It has already cost us R20 000 to transfer the furniture and we are out of money, since the money from the sale has not realized and we have been banking on it.

I am extremely unhappy about this attitude and treatment. I have been a faithful customer of Standard Bank since I arrived in this country in 1965, and I have never ever missed a single bond payment.

I beseech you to use your influence to come to our help URGENTLY.

PS: I think it is extremely wrong to have to pay an inept lawyer R4000 for not doing his job!

Desperatly Yours

Mr and Mrs Kronberger
