Incorrectly listed on the Credit Bureau by Standard Bank

On the 8th October 2016, I went into the Standard Bank Lansdowne Branch to have my RCP debit order date changed. After standing very long in the queue, I was then assisted by a lady at enquiries where I explained that I would like to have my debit order date shifted from the 27th of every month to the 1st of every month. The date was changed without any issues and I confirmed loudly with her that Standard bank wont debit my account twice on the 27th and again on the 1st. She rep**** "Standard Bank does not do double debits".

On the 23rd November 2016 I app**** for credit by a credit provider where i was declined. I queried as to why i have been declined and there response was that there is a listing against my name from Standard Bank for skipping my RCP payments. I asked how can that be as I have a debit order with Standard Bank and it goes off religiously every month? They said unfortunately they cannot assist me and this is something i need to sort out with Standard Bank.

I then immediately contacted the Call Centre and asked if all my payments are in-order, the consultant confirmed that everything is fine nothing has been skipped and all is well.

I then decided to double check and contacted the Credit Bureau. They confirmed that yes Standard Bank has listed me as being a late payer on my RCP. I once again explained how can this be as i have a debit order with the bank and that the Standard Bank consultant just confirmed that everything is in-order? Credit Bureau said that there is nothing they can do as they got the instruction from Standard Bank.

I immediately called Standard Bank back where i was put on hold for an hour without any assistance and the call eventually dropped.

the next day 24th November 2016 i phoned Standard Bank first thing where i was once again put on hold for 40mins. Eventually a consultant took my call and said that they cannot assist me as I need to contact the Credit Bureau. Now at this stage after 2 days of calling and waiting over 1h40m to be assisted, i was more than ****ed off as I am doing everything the bank says I must do and still getting nowhere. After back and forth with Standard Bank and the Credit Bureau and decided to go into the branch.

26th November 2016 I went into Standard Bank Grassy Park Branch where iwas assisted by a gentleman. I explained the entire story and he apologised and said that this is something that happens with Standard Bank. He gave me asssurance that my issue will be resolved by the 29/11/2016 and showed me proof thereof Ref: ********** 406.

On the 30th November 2016 i once again called Standard Bank to find out if my call has been sorted out. The consultant said that nothing has been changed as they are waiting for a letter to be issued.

On the 3rd December 2016 I again went into Standard Bank Grassy Park Branch for the same thing. Consultant assisted me and relogged my request and said we will contact you on Monday the 5th December 2016.

Between Monday the 5th to 9th december 2016 nobody from Standard Bank contacted and during this same week I tried contacting the Call Centre where i was on hold everyday for more than an hour to have the call dropped.

On the 10th December 2016 I again went into Standard Bank Grasssy Park Branch and explained to the consultant who now is assisting me that I will not leave this Branch until somebody tells me exactly what is going on!

It was then when everything was explained to me that the consultant who originally changed my debit order date at Lansdowne branch, gave me misinformation. i had to then pay an additional payment on this day into my RCP account for this consultant's mistake and I still await something to be done from Standard Bank's side to have my ITC cleared on the Credit Bureau.

I called the Call Centre today 22/12/2016 regarding my RCP statement i received that still says I have an arrears amount. The statement is dated the 19th December 2016 and i have made this payment on the 10th December 2016 already. I was directed to a Tiny Mashaba in Collections Department in Johannesburg.
This lady was very rude and unhelpful.
I simply enquired regading the arrears amount on my statement and she was very laxed in her voice to assist me.
I also mentioned the issue about where this problem originated from and she simply said that "its my own fault"
Im really unimpressed with the service that I am currently experiencing from Standard Bank lately not to mention the many Saturdays and personal time I have had to come in to the Bank for something that was not my fault to begin with, without any resolvment.
I have been loyal to Standard Bank for many years but i cannot say that this loyalty will continue and I will take this matter further.
