Incorrect Upgrade of Credit Card has lead to disablement of Existing Card

I was contacted via telephone about upgrading my Standard Bank credit card from a Gold Card to a Titanium one.

I agreed and the consultant asked where I should get the card delivered. I told the consultant that the card should be delivered to the Benmore branch in Johannesburg and the consultant said I would receive an sms when the card was ready for collection.

On July 6, I received an sms saying that the card was available for collection at the Claremont branch which is in Cape Town.

What is the point of the consultant asking me which branch the card should be delivered to but the card being delivered to a different branch? And as I have been in Joburg for the lockdown, I have been unable to collect my credit card.

I sent an email the day I received the SMS (July 6th) to the *** and since then I have not received a response.

Over this past weekend, I was having trouble with my existing credit card while making online payments during the 2 factor authentication step, it said there was no cell phone number associated with it.

Yesterday, August 5th, I called the Standard Bank Credit Card division and told them the above problem and they told me I need to go to a branch to update my phone number.

However, today when trying to make an EFT payment on a third party website, it says that my internet profile has been deactivated.

When logging in to my Standard Bank account online through internet banking, the dashboard says my card has been deactivated for security reasons.

I have reason to believe that the issues I am currently having are due to the initial offering of a new credit card which was offered by Standard Bank and as this service could not even be offered accurately and correctly, I now cannot use my credit card to make online purchases.

Furthermore, I tried to contact Standard Bank electronically as this is the most accurate way of communicating my issues but have not received a response.

If someone is not able to help me resolve this issue and explain to me how it happened, then I will have to take my business somewhere else.

A generic copy-paste response is not at all reassuring that this matter will be resolved.

This is poor customer service.

I have collected my new card but I do not consider the issue to be resolved when the initial fault was that of the credit card consultant and Standard Bank's lack of timeous communication. I would like to find out how this issue occurred in the first place when I spoke directly to the consultant on the phone with explicit instructions about the card delivery to the branch.
