Incorrect Payment History

Good day,

I have a vehicle finance account with Standard Bank. My January statement shows that my account was in arrears. This has negatively impacted my credit score and my payment history.

My account has always been setup to use a debit order method of payment. The debit order went through successfully [as shown in the statement], however, my account shows that it was in arrears.

I phoned Standard Bank and I was advised the debit order amount setup for January was NOT correct. Seemingly the debit order amount did not include the linked interest rate hike. This then meant that an amount of R67 was short in the debit order amount. I get that. But that's not my fault.

I signed a contract with Standard Bank and if the linked interest rate increases, I expect the debit order amount to increase. I know that. But Standard Bank cannot deduct a less amount and then fault me for being in arrears. I DO NOT setup how much needs to be deducted from the bank account, Standard Bank does.

Can my account please be rectified and the credit bureaus be correctly updated. I was NEVER in arrears. I honored my contract and I should not be suffering due to Standard Bank's errors.
