Incorrect & Nonsensical Listing
In January 2016, my Standard Bank credit card was handed over with a balance of R9600. I made an arrangement with their attorneys to pay R500 per month. This arrangement lasted until April 2017 when I accepted an offer from the attorneys for a 20% discount. I made the settlement and even got a settlement letter from the lawyers. I submitted it to Standard Bank who updated the account as settled on Transunion and Experian.
However; some time last year Standard bank listed the R1277 settlement discount on the credit bureaus as outstanding. After lodging a dispute with both the bureaus and the recoveries department at the bank, it was removed. In late January, the same amount was now listed AGAIN(this time under default listing!!!). Even worse: Transunion has the Supplier Name listed as "Unknown". How do you list someone for a debt they owe an unknown creditor? I had to investigate for myself to figure out who the creditor was!!!
On 01/02/2018 I contacted Standard Bank and they informed me they would rectify the matter with Transunion and they even sent me a confirmation sms that they are handling the issue. I am still listed on ITC. I check my profile every day and nothing has happened. I even contacted Transunion who inform me that they have not received any communication from Standard Bank regarding this matter.
This is unacceptable. Why is it that this R1277 is still on ITC and also why has Transunion agreed to a default listing with a supplier name: "Unknown".
