Inconsistent information from different branches
We have a church account with Standard Bank for the past 10 or so years. For the past year we have been trying to change signatories with no success. Different branches gives us different answers with regards to the requirements. One bank gave us a form to fill and sign, where the signatories being replaced sign that they are no longer signatories. Then when we returned 2 months later (thanks to Covid) the rules had changed. The other branch (which is where our account is held) told us that we need to come with all 3 signatories that are being replaced in order for them to be removed on the system. They all need to be present at the same time for this to be done. Needless to say, it is almost impossible to have 6 people (3 who are being changed and 3 who are new signatories) present at the same time to effect this change. The last branch I visited told me that I needed letters of resignation from the 3 individuals in order for their removal to be effected. Unfortunately this bank is more than an hour away from the other 2 new signatories. We then wrote an email to our "banker" in January. We are still waiting for the response. I never know the role of the bankers as even with my private banker I don't get any services (story for another day). As it is, the only transaction we can do is to withdraw money from an ATM. At times we have to go a few days in succession due to the daily/monthly limits. We can't do internet banking because we planned on effecting that service when we changed signatories. The last time we needed to make large money transfer we needed to beg the "outgoing members" to meet us at the bank. We were hopeful that we may be able to change those 2 signatories at the very least, but we ended up just doing the money transfer as the line for the other service was way too long. Standard Bank, what is a church to do if a resolution was made to change signatories? Can someone please help! We are not able to function because of this.
