Incompetence

In 2005 i app**** for a credit card at STD Bank and the card was issued together with a cheque book. I was only using the credit card and never used the cheque book so I didnt really need it. I went back to STD Bank and requested a cancellation of the cheque book and the lady that was assisting me confirmed that it has been cancelled. To my surprise an amount of R200 was still being debited from my account every month so I went back to the bank on the 29th of October 2016 and I spoke to a consultant by the name of Lehlohonolo and he told me that he was experiencing problems with his system but he promised me that the cancellation will be done and he gave me some document to take home, instead the only thing that was cancelled was actually the notifications from the bank for that particular account. I now only receive messages for the deductions for my credit card and the R200 thats charged for the cheque book doesnt appear on the notifications, I only see the deduction on a monthly statement that i receive from the bank. this is very frustrating because I have never used this cheque book and I am a pensioner now so basically STD bank is just taking money from account for no reason.
