******* transaction

Last Monday Standard Bank deducted R1700 from my account without my knowledge , or permission. I sent a mail to Standard Bank and received a response stating that the Collections Dept deducted the money. I just want to know who gave them the permission to do that. I am currently unemployed and a friend helped with some money. I received no Court order , or letter of demand from Standard Bank. According to my lawyer the transaction was highly ******* , and I am busy with legal action against the bank. I am also laying a complaint with the Ombudsman. I am also changing my account to another bank , as I don't want to be with a bank that just take your money without following the correct procedures.

It's almost a year later and I'm still waiting for an answer from Standard Bank. They said they will be in touch shortly. Perhaps they meant never. I'm now taking this matter to the Ombudsman as I'm really finished with Standard Bank. I hope I will get better results from the Ombudsman as my point was clearly made. There is only *********** people working there and any theft is just swept under the rug. I'm closing my account with this bank.

One Sipho called me with a lot of explanations and claiming they have documents that give them the right to just take money. I spoke to a lawyer involved in the banking industry. He said they might have the document , but is not allowed to take any money without a court order , which Sipho admitted they don't have. He also said I'm wasting my time to go to the ombudsman ,so let's see who is wasting time. See you in court Mr Sipho.
