******* repossession: fellow customers beware if you are about to settle your Car
My Merc C*** was financed by VAF since 2013. Since 2015 I was self employed and the business never did well and have been struggling since 2016. 2017 became worse and app**** for Debt review, all this time I was paying my car, even though sometimes less than instalment amount, but sometimes more than instalment amount depending on what I had. Along the way I dropped out of Debt review, it was not helping, and 2018, I had 1 year contract job, and paid well until mid 2019, struggled a bit but still paying, sometime less sometimes more as I was doing work earning Commission. All the time, I did receive my statements from standard bank, updated. 2020 feb, Lockdown came and I had no income but still paid less and continued to receive statements. I started recovering towards the end of 2020 and continued paying. 2021 I was doing very well and continued paying, with the aim of settling the debt. The last one was made on 1st August for R12200. I did not make payment in September and I looked forward to my next Commission payout, which I planned to settle my car. I received my up to date statement on the 18th Oct and only R40331 was outstanding. On the 19th October, sherriff of the court and standard bank Agent (Annemarie) arrived at my door to repossess my car. I tried everything, showed them the payment I just received of R49k, the Agent said even if you pay now, we will still take the car, it was a scene in the complex where I live. Unfortunately, they came towards 4pm, I could not even get any lawyer to assist. They took my car, I had to fight for everything, from Settlement letter the following day, to the release of my car, which they kept for full 4 days because they said money must be cleared on their side first, even though I made real-time payment inside the bank. This now came with an extra 19k, costs they added including Sherriff (close to 9k). next was to fight for my car papers, which were only coriered 4 days after they missed the date they promised which was 19th Nov. inside the documents sent were… car registration Certificate, and NCO document. I headed to Traffic Department to do change of ownership on the 23rd Nov, only to be turned away because VAF did not give me Company proxy document as well as ID copy of the person in whose name the NCO document is registered. I sent them an email same day and gave them end of business today 24 Nov. As I type this, I have not received any acknowledgement of receipt of my email, no communication received so far. I am counting down 21 days within which I must have changed ownership or else it is back to square one. I need to part ways with standard bank for good, their tactics, their poor service, lack of knowledge of their staff makes customers suffer unnecessary.

Since I wrote my first review in November last year, i am still here without my car papers. The Ombudsman Banking Sector is taking their time, which i do not have. i cannot wait any more. I am unemployed and I need to sell my car to get a smaller one and i cannot because VAF is sitting on my papers.
i am giving you until Wednesday. on Thursday, i will write a review on your Twitter Time line.
i will walk in Std bank nearest branch, Woodlands or The grove , to let the manager know and be prepared for my sit in.
From the week 21st March, expect my visit/sit in at a branch until I get my car papers.
We customers are made to suffer by you big corporates, when we fight for ourselves because authorities are failing us, you label us black Women...RSA.. I am now prepared to be that Black Woman.
