IF YOU BANK WITH STANDARD BANK, YOU MUST BE VERY SCARED

For mire than 2 years I have been trying to get Std Bank to look into my account for suspicious activities. So after posting my complaint on this platform, standard Bank responded (Jan 18th, 2021) to first thank me and probably say to the world how 'seriously' they take customer complaints. They indicated that my 'matter is receiving immediate attention and it will be resolve in 3 days'. Now, four months and counting, i'm still waiting for a call.

And on Friday when I finally received a phone call from a lady @Standard Bank it was priceless. Was more than delighted that maybe they finally figured out the nature of my concerns. But to my surprise, she makes no mention of my dispute with the bank. As we went through the normal security questions she informs me about new security features that the bank is updating to make customer's accounts more secure. Once I was satisfied that she was a genuine Standard Bank employee I obliged. In the back of my mind I'm thinking that maybe they realized they made a mistake and the're trying to make it up to me. Then she started asking why I haven't been using my U-Count rewards, and than I've been loosing money as they expire after 12 months. That really got my attention! She proceeded to help 'set up my reward so I can start claiming' asap. It got weirder and weirder by the minute but we continued. The call lasted an entire hour, and she kept sending me OTP numbers that I have to read to her so she could convert my points so I can use my card to claim. And after a string of messages from STD bank, no less than 10 in total she promised to call me back but never did. Another head-scratcher was when she said we can do everything telephonically since I cannot get to the bank. She assured me that this was standard (pun fully intended) procedure. Curiously, all had a once-off CPN payment to Vodacom Service Provid for R1000. The call was ended abruptly and she promised to call back in a few minutes. And when I asked about the OTPs she assured me that it just standard (pun fully intended) procedure since I can't get to the bank.

The call came from Standard Bank ***. To me, this call confirmed what I long suspected, that Standard Bank is a ces****l of *******ion and cover-ups. This should scare any of their customers, and certainly those who are thinking of joining STD bank. But despite numerous attempts to get the attention from the bank and the absurdity of the call (which, I know now in hindsight,, is a ********** transaction.) It's now blatantly obvious that there is serious ***** taking place at Standard Bank but perhaps ,unlike other banks, nothing gets done to combat it. So I really wanna urge people to be very cautious when doing any kind of business with Standard Bank. And, despite all this....I'm not holding my breath that the bank will reach out to me, other than their well worn template of apologizing online (so it looks good to the public) but nothing ever gets done. But in the unlikely event they do, I will write another review updating the public.
