I recently took out an additional bond through Standard Bank
I recently took out an additional bond through Standard Bank. My account was debited on the 25th of March for the regular instalment. The new bond was lodged and paid out on 27 March, and I had requested that the debit order move to the 1st of each month. The was because I had switched the debit run from FNB to Standard Bank, so to allow time to transfer funds. However, Standard Bank ran another debit order on the 1st of April, just days later — effectively taking two instalments within one week. They are now planning to debit me again at the end of April, meaning I would have paid three full instalments in two months. Despite my efforts to escalate this, the consultants I’ve spoken to don’t understand the issue. One even imp**** that I don’t understand how finances work — which is incredibly condescending. I’ve been following up constantly because no one gets back to me as promised. I’m now out of pocket by the value of a full monthly instalment, and no one seems to acknowledge that or take responsibility.
