How Safe is my Money with your Bank
On the 27th of January my ATM card was ****** at Standard Bank Broadacres, the guy in front of me had just left the ATM and came back quickly in the pretext of having left his receipt behind. He must have pulled my card out of the ATM at the same time. He walked off hurriedly and I was left at the ATM waiting to carry on with my transaction. It was at this point I suspected that my card may have been chewed by the machine or there was a fault of some sort, as the machine was asking to insert the card. I rushed back to my car to fetch my phone so I could call the bank. A message came through immediately that R5000.00 had been withdrawn from my account. I quickly called the bank to cancel my card.
Long and short of it is.Standard bank is not taking responsibility because.
1. My report came after the money had been ******.
2. My R1000 daily ATM limit was changed to R5000 and they cannot prove who did it and when.
Their conclusion is I am a victim of crime
1. There are no CC camera at Standard Bank Broadacres or most of their ATMs or security person after 8pm
2. I couldn't withdraw more than R1000 with my PIN no because my limit is only R1000.
3. They withdrew without my PIN?
