How does ordering a card get your whole account blocked?

I called in to order a new card because mine 1 was damaged and the other one is temporary never got around to ordering a new one. Alas lovely standard bank has frozen my whole account. i cant even buy airtime. Yesterday and luckily was trying to put petrol in my car and i couldnt tranfer to another bank. Guess what, i had to leave my car at work and use public transport in this rain because of incompetence. Can someone sort out this? super annoyed client
