********** service from Standard Bank Personal Loans
I had a personal loan with Standard Bank that I couldn't afford to pay back when the pandemic started. Standard bank handed me over to debt collectors who hounded me for months. When I finally started making money, I arranged with the debt collectors to pay the outstanding amount and was given a 20% discount if I paid the total amount upfront. I made the payment and got the settlement letter which I took to standard bank.
Standard bank still proceeded to debit the payment for that loan for my account. I again went to the bank and submitted the settlement letter and told the account was closed down.
I checked my credit record and it shows that I owe Standard Bank 16k. I don't understand how this is possible since I've already settled this loan. I've also received smses saying that I've been handed over to other attorneys for this amount. But this account has been closed since September and I've submitted the settlement letter TWICE to Standard Bank.
Why do they keep insisting on ruining my credit record. I want this issue resolved otherwise I will refer it to the Ombudsman!
