HomeLoans department lack of service

I sold my house in January and the buyers homeloan was approved by Standard Bank. It is now April and they are telling us now that apparently the bank's valuators must go to the property and then note all the property details on their systems. They can also not give us a timeframe when this will be sorted! How do you give a bond without doing this exercise beforehand. They must have the information on hand already.

The attorneys say they are struggling to get hold of correct people that can sort this out - why must it be so difficult.

I need to buy another house but need to get clarity on when this will be sorted but no one can give us feedback. I know I will definitely not apply for my new bond from Standard Bank when I buy another property!
