Home Loan Bond Cancellation

I have had a home loan with standard bank since 2018, never missed a monthly payment. While in the process of selling my house and they required a 90 day notice. I had given a 90 day notice and renewed it twice as no offers were made firing the period. Latest renewed being the 7th December 2025. I received an offer to purchase December 12th 2025 and accepted after having my house in the market for over 270 days. Unfortunately because it falls in the new notice of only around 5*Days I have been penalized heavily with bond cancellation fees. I will certainly not be taking a loan from standard bank or any other options they offer as the service is not beneficial for the client. How can a client judge when we are getting an offer to sell the house. How is 270 days not enough notice my house is on the market I intend to sell. Where is the compassion that having struggled to pay off the bond instead of missing payments while giving all the notices required to just be punished as if I didn't give any notice based on the unfortunate timing of the offer. I gave sufficient time I feel to let the bank know my intentions to sell the house and having to pay ridiculously high cancellation fees feels very disappointing simply because the offer came after 275 days and not 270 as that would have been 270 days notice. Very disappointed in the service.
