Holding money over public holidays.

I am less than impressed with Standard Bank. My salary was paid on the 30th October before 10 am and it is now the 2nd November 14:00 and still it is not reflecting. First, I was told it takes 48 hours to clear, then I was told 2-3 working days. I have debit orders going off on the 1st and 2nd and yet this does not seem to worry Standard Bank. The transfer was done from FNB to Standard Bank - the money was cleared by FNB and is with Standard Bank! The fact that you are holding on to it for longer than any other bank is disgusting! I am not asking for immediate clearance or even next day clearance but 4 days to clear? I will be taking my business elsewhere. This is going to cost me in charges for debit orders that will bounce! And it is completely out of my control!!

This issue had better be resolved before 5pm so that I can transfer money for debit orders. I will also expect a reversal on charges for debit orders that have bounced.

If not resolved, and charges are not reversed, I will take this to the banking ombudsman.
