Highly disappointed customer
I was issued with a replacement debit card on 31 January 2016 and asked the consultant about the limits set on the new card.

I was assured by the advisor that my limits were the same as my old card R3000 for withdrawals and R10 000 for swiping

When paying for some items at a store amounting to R1628 the cashier showed me that the transaction exceeds my daily limit and that only R1000 could be swiped

Embarrassingly, I then had to hold up the queue while I ran around looking for an ATM to withdraw the balance of my transaction so that I could run back to the store to pay for my items

The very first thing I asked while I was in the bank was about the limits so that if the limits were too low I could have adjusted them or done a withdrawal while in the bank to avoid the very situation I found myself in

I'm highly disappointed with Standardbank, if the limits were in fact set at the values I was assured I would not have been put into the embarrassing situation. The advisors must not give false information to clients.

I sincerely hope that this does not happen to anyone else due to the incorrect information being given to clients of Standardbank
