High inconvenience banking with std bank

Out of the blue my bank accounts were frozen due to fica requirements they say. I work and live in venda and i am home in brits for holiday. I out of the blue received an sms that my accounts were frozen and i must bring a proof of residence to unblock them. I used the last of airtime i had to call work to have a proof of residence emailed to me, which they did. I took it to the brits branch where i was told they cannot accept the proof of residence because it doesnt state whether the place i stay in is a company property or not. Since when do proofs of residence state such and why wasnt i given a heads up before freezing my accounts?? I had no money to even call work for another proof of res, when i was given the brunch number the person in charge of proof of res didnt pick up, i was told nothing can be done until i bring proof of res. Now as i am typing this im Stuck, i cant pay my dues i cant even buy food for tonight yet i have money in my account. My question is why wasnt i given a heads up to bring proof of res on time? Once again, its the small people like us that always take the punch.
