Having to pay for a service that does not happen!

On 12/09/2018 I made an online payment to the Department of Agriculture in stead of the Department of Labour. My mistake! The amount was R840. So I asked Standard bank if the payment can be reversed so that I can pay the correct dept. I was tasked to send an e-mail with the details on the payment so that it can be reversed. Then, on 13/09/2018, an amount of R292.55 is deducted as a charge to reverse this payment. The bank charge on this transaction is R70.61. So the cost to reverse a payment of R840 is R363. Quite stiff, but I made the mistake, so I probably deserve it.

On 26/09/2018, I sent an e-mail to enquire when this amount will be reversed. I receive no response.

On 17/10/2018, I follow up again, asking for progress on this reversal for which I paid R363. I am asked to resend the original e-mail. I do so. On 9/11/2018 I again ask for progress. I am told that it was escalated to the Head Of Department to "sort out the matter".

Today is 21/11/2018. I paid R363 for a reversal that was promised, paid for, but did not happen. Will someone at Standard Bank please wake up!
