Having an existing home loan yet getting declined

It is with great disappointment that I have to complain about Standard Bank.

Firstly for over a week now when you phone home loans the voice box says 'we are experiencing high call volumes, your call could take up to 10 minutes to be answered'. How much longer is this going to carry on? This was always a fast service...

Secondly I already have an existing home loan with Standard bank, my fiance and I app**** for a new joint home loan account a week ago so we can re-buy my property and buy the previous partner out. He earns a decent salary monthly and after paying his creditors he is left with enough money to pay half a bond with me. We are not asking for that much but yet Standard Bank declines us due to unaffordability. How does this work if I'm already paying a bond to Standard bank since 2012? The amount we requested would maybe change the bond instalment by R1000. We have now app**** at the bank where my fiance banks and sadly will probably move our home loan there.

I have not experienced any problems with Standard bank in the 19 years I have banked with them, why must it happen now?

A beyond disappointed Standard bank customer :-(
