Harassment to settle a settled account

I was contacted this morning by attorneys on behalf of Standard Bank to collect on a loan account that was settled in full in the last 6 months. When asked, the representative refused to provide proof of the debt, which, he claims is not for them to prove, but rather for me, the customer to prove that I have paid.

I will NOT be entertaining any calls or providing proof of payment. How can I receive a paid up letter for an account if it was not paid up? Seriously Standard Bank, you need to catch a wake up and up your game.

Please ensure that you contact the attorneys and correct the info provided to them i.e. that the account is paid up.

DO NOT CALL unless it is to state that this has been resolved.
