<p>I have been receiving calls from an agency who tell me I must pay them for a Standard bank cheque account which was closed in 2013. Apparently I owe R5000 in "maintenance" costs. What are these maintenance costs because even they can't tell me how it got to R5000. In fact they don't know why I owe Standard bank, they just want me to pay. I asked for proof of debt, they offered to give me a discount. I don't want a DISCOUNT, I want to know what these "maintenance" costs are and if indeed I owe Standard bank</p>
