Handed over to attorneys for SB's mess.

So due to the public holiday on 01 November, my debit order for my vehicle did not go off. I assumed this was due to the public holiday and thus I gave it another day or two for them to collect the money. This morning I received an sms that I have been handed over to attorneys for non payment. The amount stated is the SMS in double my installment. There is sufficient funds in my account for this debit, but it just did not happen and now I am being handed over. How does this work Standard Bank? How do you not contact me first? How do you not check if the debit went off? VERY disappointed.
