Handed over cheque account

I was handed over by Standard Bank to a company named TJ Maodi Inc for a inactive cheque account with the amount of R3404.52 after not using my account for almost 2 years. I had my salary paid into this account but because of their poor service and bank charges, that was not the amount I was promised. I then had my salary paid into my capitec savings account. All of a sudden I received a letter from standard bank dated 2018/09/21 stating the balance I owe them and that I have to pay the balance. On the 24 November 2018 @2:05 pm I received this sms (Good day. Please note that your Standard Bank account qualifies for up to 30% discount if you settle your account before the 1st December 2018. You also have an option to pay your settlement over a maximum period of 2 months.T&C Apply. To take advantage of this festive season offer reply with Settle to this SMS/Email to ********** number ********** 990 Regards T.J Maodi Inc.) and another one on the 17/ 01/2019 (Despite numerous attempts to contact you, we could not reach you. Due to this, T J Maodi Inc who acts on behalf of Standard Bank, will be issuing summons against you. Subsequent to this, we shall apply for judgment against you. Upon judgment being granted, we may issue out a warrant of execution to attach and sell any of your movable or immovable property. Contact us on ********** )

Why do Standard Bank want me to be liable for an amount that they only discovered years later why did they not phone me or sent a letter one month after they saw that my salary wasn't paid into that account. They have all my details because I have I bond with them since 2009??

And this is how you treat your loyal customer/s. Is this how they treat and thank their clients to milk out middle class people that merely just have enough to make ends meet?

I have send a email this morning already to their complaints department and have not received any response.

I am utterly disgusted by their service.
