grabbing money from any account

Me and my husband went under debt review due to working hours that has been cut. Standard bank received the debt review letter on Wednesday 04/03/2015 that says that we are under debt review. On Friday 06/03/2015 they grab the whole amount from another bank account,(my personal account, I never signed for any debit orders on that account). I phoned the homeloans department,and the refuse to pay back the money that they took from my personal account,without permission for any debit orders. The debit order was signed by my husband,he gave permission for the debit order on his account. How can a bank just grab money from any account,after they have received a letter that clearly states that we are under debt review,and cant afford the full amount. The money that was taken from my bank account instead of my husband account,was money that had to buy groceries,so without permission,standard bank took the food out of our mouths.
