Frozen account due to a deposit

I am a 40 year standing client. Day before yesterday (30.01.23) after selling a vehicle, a deposit of R1000 was done from the buyer (a Fellow STD Bank client) to confirm correct details and after receiving confirmation sms from my bank, a 2nd deposit of R99 000. I received a confirmation sms, so all good.

The next day (31.01.23) I logged on to my bank app as well as Internet banking to do my usual month end payments and low and behold my account is frozen! NOTE: this was only discovered after my private banker tried to fix it technically with the help of online banking technicians, he did not realise my account was frozen, as MY PRIVATE BANKER! Only later could my private banker confirm it was frozen as the transfer from Std Bank to my account was flagged as potentially **********. NOONE phoned me to query why i received money, they just made a decision!

Today (1.02.23) i am still locked out, it is late morning 10.30 am and no resolution in site.

Ironically, they did not freeze the 99+1 thousand rands received, but also the previous balance of +/- R40 000 that was in the account! My Bond debit order has bounced, my medical aid, my min. payment to a credit card! I cant give my student son his allowance, i cant go shopping, fill up with petrol or draw money.

I am bankrupt, due to a deposit, plus my initial balance!!!!!

I am venting here, before seeking legal intervention!

Hang your head in shame STANDARD BANK!
