Frozen Account but still deduct Charges????
I have an NPO Bank account, with a small amount of money in, that was frozen due to not having correct documents. The problem is that the NPO is not active, and hasnt been for years, as well as the Chairman passed away during COVID, and I do not have contact with the Treasurer of the time. I notified the bank when the Chairman passed, and they said it was fine I could access the account. On freezing the account, I sent numerous emails to the assigned banker, who was just not helping me, so I sent in a complaint email and immediately got response, with a new banker assigned, assuring me I would be helped. I just had to send my ID and proof of my address, which I immediately did. It is now two weeks later, and I still have not had a response. The irony is that every month, the bank deducts R90 from the account for charges, but I cannot access the account, or get them to transfer the money out. Surely this is *****ulent as well as *******. You freeze an account so one cannot access, but still deduct charges, but do not respond to the person trying to get it sorted. I am shocked at how Standard Bank works, and the effort one has to go through to access money that is not theirs.
