********** Loan

I sent an email to Standard Bank on Monday, 06 March 2017, explaining that my ex-husband **********ly took out a loan in my name in 2015. I am not certain of the exact date nor the account number. Nobody has responded to my email even though I was informed that I will be contacted within 48 hours. I then sent another email this morning to escalate the matter to the Complaint Resolution Centre but I am still waiting on a reference number.

At that time that the loan was made, my ex-husband and I were seperated and once I became aware of what was done I thought that I had no rights and simply had to pay the loan because the divorce was not finalized then. What added to my stress and fear was that Standard Bank continuously threatened me and I felt like I had no alternative but to pay. He had possession of all my documents, bank account, cellphone, email, etc. which is how he took out the loan. His girlfriend posed as me and they made numerous purchases on my name.

I recently discovered that they also took out a Capitec loan using my details but this was cleared from my name due to it being a ********** and ******* matter. Capitec Bank laid a ***** charge against him.

I am unable to pay this account any longer. I have seeked advice from a senior in the banking industry and was informed that I do, in fact, have rights. I hereby request that the loan be removed from my name and that you take action against Craig Solomons ID no. ********** 1****4. The last cellphone number that I have for him is ********** 539. His place of residence is unknown to me.

I will have to take the matter to the Ombudsman if the loan is not credited.

This matter has by no means been addressed. You cannot produce any documents with my signature on it BECAUSE I DID NOT TAKE OUT THE LOAN. Now you want to come back and tell me that the loan was taken out telephonically which I think is absolutely ridiculous. You just assumed that the voice on the other end of the line belonged to me and gave money to con artists without verifying that you were dealing with me; no checking that the voice belonged to me, that the face matched my ID, that the signature was mine.

Worst bank ever just as everyone I have ever spoken to agrees, even your current clients and your very own employees.

I again request for the loan to be withdrawn from my name or I will take the matter to the Ombudsman because Standard Bank is deserving of a hefty fine.

Standard Bank has admitted to not having done the necessary security checks. They do not have documentation with my signature, they have not compared the *********'s face to mine, they have no voice recording with my voice requesting the loan nor have they checked that such voice would in fact belong to me. I have sent several emails and flatly ignored by Clint Petersen of Standard Bank. I have presented the matter to the Ombudsman; I want the loan removed from my name and all installments that I was forced to pay refunded to me urgently into my ABSA Bank account (the leading financial institution).
