Standard Bank has had a debit order of R34.99 on my credit card for years on end. When someone had purchased airline tickets on my credit card (whilst it was still in my possession), I cancelled all my accounts with standard bank, I found that they could not close my credit card as they were busy charging me for an UNAUTHORISED debit order of R34.99 every single month for YEARS. In addition, they were charging bank charges and finance charges on this amount!! Since enquiring from February 2015 they have yet to inform me as to what this debit order is for (spanning more than 15 years) and who authorised it. They keep passing the buck and it seems that even the ***** Division is uninterested. It may be best for customers to rather change from standard bank to another since they are in UNSAFE HANDS.
