<p>Hi </p> <p>I had a Saving and Cheque account at Standard Bank witch I closed 5 years ago.</p> <p>I was in areas with my Cheque account and had to pay up the account before i could close it witch I did.</p> <p>For 5 years I have never heard anything from Standard Bank until about 6 Months ago SSDA Atorneys started contacting me non stop about oustanding money on my standard bank account. </p> <p> </p> <p>I explained to them that those accounts have been settled and closed 5 yeaars ago so they said i should give them prove, I went to the branch where I closed my account and they told me that they do not have those records anymore because they only keep it for 5 years.</p> <p>I Feel that this is very conveniant to tell someone after 5 years you owe them money when there is no records availble anymore to proof anything.</p> <p> </p> <p>please help me with Standard Bank and SSDA because I do not know what to do.</p>
